Concert crowd control barriers (also known as barricades, Mojo barriers, or stage barriers) are the industry-standard front-of-stage crowd safety system. Designed to withstand intense crowd pressure at concerts and large events, these steel barriers protect both the audience and performers.
Design & Function
The barrier's primary functions:
- Crowd Surge Absorption: Angled front panel (30 degrees) distributes crowd pressure downward and forward, preventing crushing at the stage front
- Security Channel: Creates a walkway between barrier and stage for security/medical personnel to reach crowd quickly
- Crowd Extraction: Low back step allows security to pull distressed individuals over the barrier safely
- Perimeter Definition: Clearly marks the audience boundary, preventing stage incursion
Construction
- Frame: 40mm x 40mm x 2.0mm steel square tube, fully welded
- Front Panel: 1.5mm steel sheet, punched with anti-glare perforations
- Top Rail: 40mm round tube — smooth surface prevents injury when crowd leans
- Back Step: 200mm wide flat step at 500mm height — security standing platform
