    Bridge and viaduct noise barriers are specialized acoustic structures designed for the unique structural and environmental conditions of elevated transportation infrastructure. Unlike ground-mounted barriers, bridge barriers must handle bridge vibration, wind exposure, weight limitations, and aesthetic requirements.

    Bridge-Specific Challenges

    • Bridge Vibration: Traffic-induced vibration cycles (2-10 Hz) fatigue barrier connections. Requires flexible mounting.
    • Weight Limitation: Bridge decks have strict dead-load limits. Barriers must be lightweight.
    • Wind Exposure: Bridges are elevated — higher wind speeds and turbulence. Wind load 1.5-2.0 kPa.
    • Aesthetic Requirements: Bridges are visible landmarks. Transparent or architectural finishes often required.
    • Corrosive Environment: River-crossing bridges expose barriers to humid, salty air. Requires enhanced corrosion protection.
    • Maintenance Access: Bridge barriers harder to access. Must be more durable and easier to replace.
